The girls' daycare, Amanda, provided this awesome seven page "manual" of potty training that included getting ready, the actual process, troubleshooting and what worked for them. We, along with my mom, all got on the same page and started a week ago Tuesday.
Maggie went to my mom's as planned while Matt worked from home and helped me with day one. I decided I didn't want to use food or snacks to entice Emma to use the restroom, so instead used stickers. She loves stickers, so this worked well. First day was great with only three accidents. Second day had five accidents....including a number two. But, by the end of the day, she was telling us when she had to go or going on her own without coming to tell us. She has only had two accidents since last Wednesday. Going number two is a struggle though and I fear will be an issue for her. We are also keeping her in pull-ups for naps and overnight. While she tends to wake up dry 80% of the time, I am just not ready to chance it yet.
All things considering, she is doing really, really well and I am actually quite surprised how fast she picked up on it all.
Two days of long sleeved shirts and underwear. She now wants to run around like this all the time. |
Yay Emma!! Aren't they the cutest in little undies. Good work!
