Seriously, sleep regressions may be my least favorite phase ever. I thought we were done with them with Emma but I have been proven wrong. Let me tell you, this one is a doozy
Maybe it's my fault/karma for being blessed with a great sleeper for the last year and a half with consistent bed time, waking up and just an easy kid to put to bed. We are all about consistency and setting a good routine at an early age: bath, pajamas, chill out for 30 minutes, back to bed, read, water, prayers, hugs/kisses and out the door. Wouldn't hear from Emma and then when she woke in the morning, she would be talking in bed. We were rockin' bedtime and then it switched on a dime.
Now, it is stalling, whining/crying/screaming and us going in there anywhere from three to four times to get her to sleep. This goes on for about 15-30 minutes. Then it is waking through the night, sometimes not at all or like last night it was every hour for nearly five hours. We are tired. I am tired. Let's be real, Matt gets a break from this most night with it being basketball season.
I have researched a million websites so many times and often the same ones just to be reassured. This has been going on for nearly two months and has been the worst in the last two to four weeks. I remind myself this phase, but shoot, can this phase end NOW?
This better be a real thing and I hope this thing is done shortly because this mama is tired.
We are going through this with Amelia right now at 22 months =( she was doing GREAT up until this week. Now, even though we have the same bedtime routine and in bed by 9... She is up and out of bed for the first time ever, constantly at her door and yelling for me, always asking for water... And up until 10-10:30 every night! It's exhausting as she's also up multiple times a night again and still up by 7:30. I sure hope this phase is over soon!!!! Thinking of you and your girls!!!
