Cooler weather, leaves changing and students back on campus must mean one thing: college football is back in Ames!
Last year, Emma was only a month old when football season rolled around, so I only made it to one game (errr...half a game). This year I was beyond excited to take her to her first football game. I knew she would love the atmosphere because she loved basketball season. I was crossing my fingers all went smoothly and it did!
We ventured out with one of my best friend's, Laura, for the first game against North Dakota State. I decided to put her down for an earlier morning nap and woke her up in time to get there an hour before kickoff. Besides being a bit out of it, she couldn't have acted any better. I borrowed a Boba Air from a friend before deciding to invest in it and she did so well with it. It wasn't hot at all, comfortable and a breeze to get her in and out of. Besides the outcome of the game, Emma's first college football experience was a success.
The following weekend I went to the game alone and decided to take a risk and not put Emma down for a nap before the game in hopes of her sleeping while walking around the tailgate lots. She took about a 40 minute snooze while tailgating and was ready for game time. We made it until halftime when she started breaking out in a rash and started feeling warm. So we packed up and napped/watched from home.
I am so lucky that Emma loves the loud, crazy sport atmosphere. I guess she never stood a chance otherwise. We started bringing her to events at three months old, so she doesn't know any different. She's in it for the long haul, whether she likes it or not. Looking forward to using my Boba Air I ordered (get it if you don't have one - LOVE it) for years to come!
